A Mandy collection

May 2007 trip to NY!

The long road seems to never end, then it stops abruptly.

Thought you might enjoy the beautiful bridge, so I took a pic.

This is my brother, I was lucky to sit next to him, otherwise I would have had to deal with screams from the back seat. He and mandy don't get along too well, especially in the back seat.

I just wonder what was going on in her head.

We parked at the Aquarium of niagra because of the free parking. So we had to walk to the falls. I'm glad they had such a nice walking trail.

The beautiful bridge, the link between Canada and the us.

A view of the falls from the observation deck.

The observation deck where the previous picture was taken from. It's really high, I'm glad there are elevators!

All wet from the mist, taken on the maid of the mist. The mist actually was like rain! It came down hard! And so we got soaked, of course that's what the phoncos are for but they don't cover the legs, at least for the tall ones they don't.

Sisters posing for a pic.

Dad trying to get in a pic with maranda and happened to walk in! lol

Mandy and dad!

Dad actually gave brent a quarter! I didn't think he would...

They (my family) let the frogs go at the park yesterday. Hopefully they survive. They were all frogs except for 2. We're probably leaving tomorrow, because the lawn needs mowed.

Mandy Stare

I think camera stare is a problem. This picture was taken before the ones on Curtis blog. Click here

Spring Peepers!

I probably haven't mentioned it before, but I have 7 pet spring peeper tadpoles. We got them from Virginia, our friend that goes to collage there brought them back.

This morning I went to check on them and one of them was clinging to the side of the tank. So we had to empty most of the water out and put a rock in for them to sit on.

Aren't they cute? That one on the ^left is soon to be a frog!

This one on the rock is a little frog! He can breathe air.

I hope you enjoy these pictures! I will try to keep you updated.

Sabbath

We girls had fun playing around on the balance beam. While I was laying on my back, the principle came in wondering where Korah's mom was and he suprised me so much I fell off. It was pretty funny. That was only one funny thing that happened. But I'm not allowed to mention the other things.

I went to BMA this last Sabbath. It was pretty fun. Here are some pictures. See how much Korah's hair has grown!

faviorite season

What is your favorite season? Mine is Summer! I love summer vacation!

Just popped in to say... well... what was on my mind.

Do you like doing laundry? I do! It's my favorite chore! It drives me crazy sometimes when our closet floor is covered in clothes, some clean some dirty, and the dresser tops too. But it's fun sharing a room with my sister because we can chat about stuff at night before falling asleep. When I move out of the house in like maybe 5 years or so, I know I'll miss it.

Can you hear me Lord?

By Alyssa

Can you hear me Lord?
As I cry to you in prayer.
Are you listening?
I need to know you're there.

Are you listening?
Can you hear me?
Are you listening?
As I kneel in humble prayer.

I need strengthening.
I need encouraging.
I need a friend.
When no one else is there.

I can hear you.
I am listening.
I am here.
As you cry to me in prayer.

I will strengthen you.
I'll be here for you.
I'll be your friend.
When no one else is there.

Mirror by Alyssa

Mirror mirror on the wall
Am I very pretty or not at all?
Mirror mirror on the wall
Please show me my every flaw

Look at yourself from someone else's eyes
You may be in for quite a suprise
You may not be beautiful but you're good at heart
You may feel dumb but you're really very smart

Amazing picture of cross in flag

This is a beautiful photo of a giant flag in Arizona. The photo is authentic and un-retouched. The picture was taken on regular Kodak 35 mm film. The person who took the picture couldn't believe the image created by the sun's rays. Nice of them to share with the world!

Pictures = Comments?

Well it seems like when I post pictures, people post comments. I've been looking over my old posts from the past year and realized I should post more often, about myself. So here is a picture of my rabbit! I love him so much! When I get my own camera (If I ever do) I will post many more pictures, and maybe videos!

Sping Time

I have been doing pretty well on my violin. I still haven't bought a tuner, but I will soon! I also want to get a pitch pipe with all the notes to help us sing better. (Speaking of my sister and I). And a mini accordion, just to play around on. Pretty soon I plan on doing a special music at church. I will do either "As the deer" or a medley of "Fairest Lord Jesus, My Jesus I love thee, & I love you Lord." With 2 verses of each hymn. Which one do you think I should do? And maybe even "Joyful Joyful we adore thee" on the violin sometime with piano accompaniment.

As Korah said, spring is here. The weather has been cool but pleasant.

I'll post some pictures when I can.

It rained today, and the grass turned green. I just love the refreshing rain! It reminded me of the hymn "Showers of Blessing."

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/t/h/thershow.htm

There shall be showers of blessing:

This is the promise of love;

There shall be seasons refreshing,

Sent from the Savior above.

Refrain
Showers of blessing,

Showers of blessing we need:

Mercy drops round us are falling,

But for the showers we plead.

There shall be showers of blessing,

Precious reviving again;

Over the hills and the valleys,

Sound of abundance of rain.
Refrain

There shall be showers of blessing;

Send them upon us, O Lord;

Grant to us now a refreshing,

Come, and now honor Thy Word.
Refrain

There shall be showers of blessing:

Oh, that today they might fall,

Now as to God we’re confessing,

Now as on Jesus we call!
Refrain

There shall be showers of blessing,

If we but trust and obey;

There shall be seasons refreshing,

If we let God have His way.
Refrain

Some updates

I haven't been on in a few weeks and first I'd like to post the updates from Christian.

From: Christian Berdahl To: Coby Berdahl Sent: Friday, March 9, 2007 2:57:29 PM Subject: Another quick update.Greetings dear friends,
It is Friday and I am looking forward to a restful weekend with my family! I flew in on Tuesday from New Orleans and have trying to catch up on a pile of phone calls and duties here in the office. My dear wife held down the fort pretty well in my absence and for that I am thankful. I went and had all of my lab work done on Wednesday in preparation for my surgery. An earlier date doesn't look like it is going to work out. Thus, I am scheduled for the 21st of March. We will be staying a couple of nights in a hotel in Sacramento after the surgery. Since we live about an hour and a half away from the surgery center it will be best to stay in town if any complications arise after surgery.
We are working hard to get ready for a 3-6 week absence from the office and travel. We are trying to get plenty of rest by turning in earlier each night, drinking lots of water and fresh juices, supplementing and praising the Lord, etc. We will do what we can to prepare my body prior to the surgery so healing will be more rapid.
Pray for my dear wife that has to take care of ME! Honestly, in times past I haven't been the best patient. It is the most difficult thing for me to just sit! I love the work that the Lord has called Me to and to be away from it is to be denied a wonderful joy in my life. Please pray for ME that I glorify the Lord each and every moment of this trial.
I am endeavoring to get a message recorded and sent out to those of you who receive our Message of the Month. The subject matter deals with trials and standing patiently through them.
Thank you for the kind cards, emails and support that you have blessed us with.
Looking onward and upward!
Love,
Christian & Coby

Hello Dear Friends,
We have settled in to our hotel room which is about 4 blocks from the surgery center. My surgery is scheduled for 9:00AM Wednesday morning with a 7:30AM arrival. My mother and step dad will be with Coby while I am under the knife. Our boys are with dear friends until Friday. The Lord has worked everything out so far. Praise God. We are in the Hands of the Lord and we are looking forward to praising Him through this "road bump" in our life.
Thank you for your prayers!
We'll update you as soon as we can. We are having email problems while in another town. So, if you actually got this email its a miracle!
In HIS Glorious Service,
Christian O. Berdahl
Director, Shepherd's Call Ministry

Hello dear friends,
I thought that I would send you a quick update. We just got home a few hours ago from Sacramento and we are looking forward to a quiet Sabbath with our children. Christian is doing very well considering! The first two days were pretty rough and his pain level is quite high still, but we are PRAISING GOD that there are no serious side effects. He has dizziness and is staying as horizontal as possible. When he sits straight up or stands the world begins to spin. When he does need to move we are using a walker to help stabilize him. His right ear and the right side of his tongue are numb, which we are hopeful will go away as his healing progresses. Overall, he is handling things well and has been a very good patient. We are so thankful that so far there are no serious side effects!! Christian just keeps saying over and over again, "Thank you Father, Thank you Father!"
There was more damage in Christian's ear than what Dr. M. had expected. During the 3 hour procedure he drilled and removed a section of the mastoid bone that was as large as a walnut. He then removed all of the other tumor material from the rest of the ear. He said that the tumor had grown all around the facial nerve but that it didn't do any major damage to it! He reconstructed where the balance center had been compromised. He also constructed a new ear drum from a skin graft. Then he flipped Christian's ear back in to place and sewed him up. Two of the three inner hearing bones were completely dissolved. One remains and Dr. M. is hopeful that all the healing will go well and that his ear will be able to hold up through another surgery, this will happen in about 18 months. There does seem to be some level of hearing but we will not know if it will be "useful" hearing or not for several months.
Thank you so much for all of your love, prayers and support! We are truly grateful.
Love,
Coby

Christian is having some complications that started last night. We are heading in to see his doctor early AM tomorrow, Tuesday the 27th. His pain level has been increasing instead of decreasing as it should be along with the drainage from his ear becoming heavier and very red instead of the lighter yellow it is supposed to be at this point. Please pray that all will turn out well. We are very grateful for your love and care.In His Love, Coby

Just a quick note to let you know that things are looking up here for Christian. He is doing much better since the doctor put him on a stronger pain medication. The down side is it makes him very out of it, but he will deal with that since it is at least giving him enough relief that he can sleep. He is still unable to move around much but this is to be expected for a couple of more weeks.Thank you so much for your prayers. God has and is carrying us through!!Sweet blessings to you and have a beautiful Sabbath. In His Love, Coby

Even though the surgery is over he still needs our prayers. This will take a long time to heal. It is a long and painful process. Trust me, ear pain is one of the most painful things to experience, especially since it is one of the most important of the 5 senses. I have had many earaches as a little child and recently, within the past 2 years, ruptured ear drums on both sides. I have been fortunate not to have very drastic results, but I can't wait until heaven, where we will all be given new bodies!

The Blind Girl

There was a blind girl who hated herself because of her blindness. Not only did she hate herself but she hated everyone else, except her loving boyfriend. He wasalways there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "now that you can see the world, will you marry me?"
The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him.Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her that simply said. "Just take care of my eyes dear."This is how the human brain changes when our status changes. Only a few remember what life was like before and even fewer remember who to thank for always being there even when times were painfully unbearable.Life Is a GiftToday before you think of saying an unkind word -
Think of someone who can't speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food -
Think of someone who Has nothing to eat. Before you complain about your husband or wife -
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.Today before you complain about life -
Think of someone who went too Early to heaven. Before you complain about your children -
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren. Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep -
Think of the people who are living in the streets. Before whining about the distance you drive -Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job -Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down-
Put a smile on your Face and thank God you're alive and still around.Life is a gift, live it, enjoy it, celebrate it, and fulfill it.RELISH THE MOMENT, IT MAY NOT COME AROUND AGAIN!

Update on Christian's ear problem!

Greetings dear friends & family,
Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
This scripture has become much closer to my heart over the last couple of weeks. I thank God for the scriptures for they indeed comfort me.
The Lord worked it out so that I was able to get in to see the specialist yesterday (Tuesday Feb 20th) instead of my original appointment on March 8th. We had been praying that if the Lord knew that I should get in earlier than the 8th that He would open the way. He knew I needed to see the doctor sooner. I had a bunch of testing done, a CAT scan and a long interview and exam yesterday.
I have good news and bad news to report. The good news is that it appears that my brain is NOT involved at this time. He is not 100% sure but fairly confident. The bad news is that it is as bad as it could be without brain involvement. The doctor said that on a scale of one to ten, one being a torn eardrum that needs to be reconstructed (which mine does) and a ten being critical, potentially life threatening brain involvement, I am at a nine ready to "burst into a ten."
This news comes on the heals of my first ENT telling me last Thursday that he would operate on me as soon as I wanted him to. He didn't see the need for a CAT scan and said that he was just going to proceed to surgery and "open me up and see what we had." Coby and I paid the bill and left never to return. You see God had already got me an appointment with the specialist in Sacramento without a referral! We still had a second opinion coming. Praise the Lord.
Obviously, the second opinion, from a doctor that people from all over the country and Canada fly in to see for the same problem that I have, was in God's plans.
What now? The doctor is very concerned and is going to get me scheduled for surgery ASAP. He doesn't want this to go any longer than two weeks. He discovered that my entire ear is a total mess. And that my "balance center" has even been compromised. This has been the cause of my dizzy spells and bad motion sickness. I will need more than one surgery. The first will be to remove the tumor and clean out the ear and create an environment that might be able to with stand a second surgery in a year or so after I am healed. The likelihood of me recovering my hearing in my right ear is probably not going to happen. It is very likely that I will be completely deaf in that ear. The recovery time is what disappoints me the most. I can't work for at least a month. I will have to reschedule my speaking and concert dates. The first two to four weeks I WILL have vertigo (dizziness and wanting to throw up), facial paralysis is very common and a lack of taste will most likely be present while the ear reattaches to my head. They have to cut along the back of the ear and flap it forward on to my cheek. The ear and part of my face will be numb for an unknown length of time.
I must confess that this problem is something that I just don't have time for! (LOL Laughing out loud!) Honestly, I have so much that I want to do for the Lord right now! I want to finish our new album, get our replacement duplicator working (which the new one is having problems to!) and keep my scheduled venues. I know that this condition/disease is obviously important to take care of BUT I don't just sit around well! After a week camping I usually start going a little stir crazy wanting to get back to what I love to do–work for the Lord. So, I have a few prayer requests. One that God will continue to lead in how all things need to proceed with my surgery and recovery. Two, that God will not only help the tumor to be removed completely and that the reconstruction of my inner ear would go perfect but that I would recover my hearing! We are expecting a total recovery but willing to accept what ever is the Lord's will. Three, that the Lord would draw especially close to Coby and the boys. Coby is a trooper but having a tough time with all of this. Pray that as she becomes my nurse that she will be strengthened and that I will be a good patient.
We just got a call from the scheduling nurse for my doctor and they are trying to get me scheduled as soon as possible. Due to the long surgery time the surgery center will only allow me to be scheduled in the AM according to their policy. And the Doctor is scheduled until March 21st. I am now on a waiting list incase there is a cancellation. I am by faith leaving on an airplane for an evangelistic seminar Thursday AM the 22nd. Since there is a hole in my ear drum there is no danger when flying. Please also pray that I will know how long to be away for the seminar in New Orleans. I don't know if I should be away for the entire scheduled time or come home sooner in case there is a cancellation.
I will by faith and by calendar go forward to meet my obligations but honestly I want to be home with my family right now. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.
I wanted to thank each of you for your willingness to share your health products, tips and counsel with us. We have all the info we need now and we will explain more details of what exactly is going on and why certain natural remedies won't work in this case and why surgery short of God just healing me will be necessary. There are different types of cholesteatomas and various degrees of involvement and we'll share this with you during our next message of the month. By the way, we did pay for a replacement CD duplicator but we are having problems with it too. The devil just hates us. But the Lord loves us and will help us get through the little annoyances as well as the problems.
Thank you so much to each of you that have showed your love for us. Your cards and flowers, your emails and phone calls have touched us very deeply. I feel like I am part of a huge, loving family! We consider you to be a part of our family and now we see that so many of you do too!
I thank God for you.

PRAY for Christian Berdahl!

Hello,
Please, please pray for Christian! If you don't know who he is, please visit his website: http://www.shepherdscall.com/ for more info! He is one of the first people who introduced my family to the Sabbath truths. He means a lot to a lot of people. Thanks so very much!
Alyssa

Greetings dear friends,

I am asking for your prayers. I personally need them! Please add me to what ever pray lists you can. As some of you know I have had major problems with my right ear. For more than three years I have had a hole in my ear drum and a large decrease in my hearing. The pain, dizziness, and infection has continued and last week it got very painful. I made an appointment to see an ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist). He tried to examine my ear but there was so much gunk in it and a scab that had formed on my ear drum that he couldn't remove it. He sent me home with a prescription for antibiotic drops and said he wanted to see me in four weeks. The pain within two days tripled! The drops had dissolved the gunk and were going straight in my inner ear causing major pain and pressure.

I rescheduled my appointment for yesterday (Thursday 2-1-07). He was surprised to see me and asked why I was back already? I told him that I think the scab was already gone and that the pain was great. He looked and vacuumed around for but a moment when he found the hole and began to suck out vast amounts of nastiness. He worked on me until I could no longer handle the pain. Literally as the tears streamed down my face I asked him stop. He sat down and said, "Yes you are correct that you have a hole in your ear drum. But we have a problem. You have a cholesteatoma. A tumor that needs to be removed. It can have serious side effects, facial paralysis, tick disorder, loose the sense of taste, permanent dizziness, brain abscess and in extreme cases even death."

What we know is that it is serious and has been a problem for many years. This does not make any of us happy. The doctor said, "Christian...you don't want to mess around with this! You are going to need third party help to pay for this (we are uninsured, that's what prompted his statement). It's going to be very expensive! You need to start with a CAT scan and we'll go form there. You need to try and get on MediCal or something."

Previous to getting a hold of Coby (Who was away running errands) I had spent a number of hours on the internet researching the disorder. And by the time I was able to talk to her a lot of info had been gathered up in my mind. When I heard her voice I broke down. I told her the news through my tears. She of course felt a sick feeling coming over her and changed her plans and came straight home. She got home and embraced me with a hug of love that said, "I love you and I am here." We prayed together garnering strength from the Lord.

We decided, for the time being, to not look on the internet anymore. Yes there have been great successes with this disease and great failures too. The devil sure loves to tempt us to magnify the negative and forget that God is our strength and refuge. God will see us through! We don't know how all of this is going to work out but we know that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

While we have faith in the Lord I must admit that Coby and I go back and forth between being totally surrendered and totally scared at what the future might bring. Please pray for us, asking God to guide us through this amazing valley of emotion and uncertainty. We are resolved in our hearts that with God we can make it through. It just doesn't take away the pain sometimes.

Your brother and sister in the blessed hope!

Feel like a good laugh?

SO, HOW DID YOU BREAK YOUR ARM?

Even if you aren't a skier, you'll be able to appreciate the humor of the slopes as written by a New Orleans paper: A friend just got back from a holiday skiing trip to Utah with the kind of story that warms the cockles of anybody's heart.

Conditions were perfect.. .12 below, no feeling in the toes, basic numbness all over...the "Tell me when we're having fun" kind of day.

One of the women in the group complained to her husband that she was in dire need of a rest room. He told her not to worry that he was sure there was relief waiting at the top of the lift in the form of a powder room for female skiers in distress. He was wrong, of course, and the pain did not go away. If you've ever had nature hit its panic button in you, then you know that a temperature of 12 below doesn't help matters.

With time running out, the woman weighed her options. Her husband, picking up on the intensity of the pain, suggested that since she was wearing an all-white ski outfit, she should go off in the woods and no one would even notice.

He assured her, "The white will provide more than adequate camouflage."

So she headed for the tree line, began lowering her ski pants and proceeded to do her thing.

If you've ever parked on the side of a slope, then you know there is a right way and wrong way to set your skis so you don't move.

Yup, you got it!

She had them positioned the wrong way. Steep slopes are not forgiving, even during the most embarrassing moments. Without warning, the woman found herself skiing backward, out-of-control, racing through the trees, somehow missing all of them and onto another slope. Her derriere and the reverse side were still bare, her pants down around her knees, and she was picking up speed all the while.

She continued backwards, totally out-of-control, creating an unusual vista for the other skiers. The woman skied back under the lift and finally collided violently with a pylon. The bad news was that she broke her arm and was unable to pull up her ski pants. At long last her husband arrived, putting an end to her nudie show, then summoned the ski patrol. They
transported her to a hospital.

While in the emergency room, a man with an obviously broken leg was put in the bed next to hers. "So, how'd you break your leg?" she asked, making small talk.

"It was the stupidest thing you ever saw," he said. "I was riding up this ski lift and suddenly, I couldn't believe my eyes! There was this crazy woman skiing backward, out-of-control, down the mountain, with her bare bottom hanging out of her pants. I leaned over to get a better look and fell out of the lift." "So, how'd you break your arm?"

1960

In September 1960, I woke up one morning with six hungry babies and just 75 cents in my pocket. Their father was gone. The boys ranged from three months to seven years; their sister was two. Their Dad had never been much more than a presence they feared.

Whenever they heard his tires crunch on the gravel driveway they would scramble to hide under their beds.

He did manage to leave $15 a week to buy groceries.

Now that he had decided to leave, there would be no more beatings, but no food either.

If there was a welfare system in effect in southern Indiana at that time, I certainly knew nothing about it. I scrubbed the kids until they looked brand new and then put on my best homemade dress, loaded them into the rusty old 51 Chevy and drove off to find a job.

The seven of us went to every factory, store and restaurant in our small town. No luck.

The kids stayed crammed into the car and tried to be quiet while I tried to convince whomever would listen that I was willing to learn or do anything. I had to have a job.

Still no luck. The last place we went to, just a few miles out of town, was an old Root Beer Barrel drive-in that had been converted to a truck stop. It was called the Big Wheel.

An old lady named Granny owned the place and she peeked out of the window from time to time at all those kids. She needed someone on the graveyard shift, 11 at night until seven in the morning. She paid 65 cents an hour, and I could start that night.

I raced home and called the teenager down the street that baby-sat for people. I bargained with her to come and sleep on my sofa for a dollar a night. She could arrive with her pajamas on and the kids would already be asleep. This seemed like a good arrangement to her, so we made a deal.

That night when the little ones and I knelt to say our prayers, we all thanked God for finding Mommy a job. And so I started at the Big Wheel.

When I got home in the mornings I woke the baby-sitter up and sent her home with one dollar of my tip money--fully half of what I averaged every night. As the weeks went by, heating bills added a strain to my meager wage.

The tires on the old Chevy had the consistency of penny balloons and began to leak. I had to fill them with air o n the way to work and again every morning before I could go home.

One bleak fall morning, I dragged myself to the car to go home and found four tires in the back seat. New tires! There was no note, no nothing, just those beautiful brand new tires. Had angels taken up residence in Indiana ? I wondered.

I made a deal with the local service station. In exchange for his mounting the new tires, I would clean up his office. I remember it took me a lot longer to scrub his floor than it did for him to do the tires.

I was now working six nights instead of five and it still wasn't enough. Christmas was coming and I knew there would be no money for toys for the kids.

I found a can of red paint and started repairing and painting some old toys. Then hid them in the basement so there would be something for Santa to deliver on Christmas morning. Clothes were a worry too. I was sewing patches on top of patches on the boys pants and soon they would be too far gone to repair.

On Christmas Eve the usual customers were drinking coffee in the Big Wheel. These were the truckers, Les, Frank, and Jim, and a state trooper named Joe.

A few musicians were hanging around after a gig at the Legion and were dropping nickels in the pinball machine. The regulars all just sat around and talked through the wee hours of the morning and then left to get home before the sun came up.

When it was time for me to go home at seven o'clock on Christmas morning, to my amazement, my old battered Chevy was filled full to the top with boxes of all shapes and sizes. I quickly opened the driver's side door, crawled inside and kneeled in the front facing the back seat.

Reaching back, I pulled off the lid of the top box. Inside was whole>case of little blue jeans, sizes 2-10! I looked inside another box: It was full of shirts to go with the jeans. Then I peeked inside some of the other boxes. There was candy and nuts and bananas and bags of groceries.

There was an enormous ham for baking, and canned vegetables and potatoes. There was pudding and Jell-O and cookies, pie filling and flour. There was hole bag of laundry supplies and cleaning items.

And there were five toy trucks and one beautiful little doll.

As I drove back through empty streets as the sun slowly rose on the most amazing Christmas Day of my life, I was sobbing with gratitude. And I will never forget the joy on the faces of my little ones that precious morning.

Yes, there were angels in Indiana that long-ago December. And they all hung out at the Big Wheel truck stop....

THE POWER OF PRAYER. I believe that God only gives three answers to prayer:

1. "Yes!"
2. "Not yet."
3. "I have something better in mind."

God still sits on the throne, the devil is a liar. You maybe going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that you cannot imagine.

Another Haircut.

Love Passage for Kids...

If I can speak beautifully and can sing like an angel, but
don't love others, I sound like a child banging on a piano or a
screeching radio.

Love will stand in line and wait its turn.
Love looks for the good in others.
Love doesn't always want=ant what others have, and it doesn't
brag about what it does have.
Love is polite, even when the other person is rude.
Love doesn't always have to be first.
Love doesn't get angry over the small things, and it
doesn't remember one reason after another to be hurt.
Love isn't happy when someone else fails but is happy with
the truth.
Love will always protect others, especially those who
are often picked on or teased.
Love always believes the best about others and is steady and true.

Love never gives up. Preaching will stop someday. So will
speeches. Knowledge will come to an end. Today we only
know part of what there is to know. We can preach and speak
only with a small part of understanding, but when perfection comes then what is imperfect will go away.

I am now young, and so I talk and think and speak like a
child. When I become an adult I will put childish ways behind
me. Now we see only a poor reflection, like in a mirror, then
we will see face-to-face. Now I only know part of what there is
to know; then I will know fully and will be fully known.

And now these three remain:
faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

The 12 Disciples

During Jesus' life on earth
he called twelve special men.
When he said, "come follow me."
they did so there and then.

Invited first to join the group,
Simon Peter came.
Peter's brother followed too---
Andrew was his name.

Several more were called by Jesus
near the Galilean lake.
James and John gave up their nets,
just for Jesus' sake.

Crowds that followed Jesus knew
Philip and Thomas too.
But Thomas had doubts about Jesus
(more than just a few.)

In the group was Matthew,
who wrote of Jesus' life.
His book tells many great stories---
the love, teachings and strife.

Pleased to be a disciple,
James joined the throng.
Thaddeus and Simon
also came along.

Later the one called Judas
would betray his master's name.
Bartholomew (called Nathanael)
was another one who came.

Each of the disciples
went out in the world to preach.
To tell the message of Jesus
to every soul they could reach.

Since we're saved by Jesus,
we must follow too:
So listen to Jesus calling---
calling me and you.

I'm back!
