Some songs... I just like the words...

I like these songs >

"Wait for Me"
by Rebecca St. James

Darling did you know that I dream about you?
Waiting for the look in your eyes
When we meet for the first time.
And darling did you know that I pray about you?
Praying that you will hold on
And keep your loving eyes only for me

`Cause I am waiting for you
Praying for you,darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I`m waiting for you
Darling,wait

Darling did you know I dream about life together?
Knowing it`ll be forever
That I`ll be yours and you`ll be mine.
And darling when I say "till death do us part"
I`ll mean it with all of my heart
Now and always faithful to you

I know you may have made mistakes
But there`s forgivness and a second chance
So wait for me
So wait for me,darling.

Average Girl

So what I'm not your average girl
I don't meet the standards of this world
Chasing after boys is not my thing
See I'm waiting for a wedding ring

Chorus
No more dating
I'm just waiting
Like sleeping beauty
My prince will come for me
No more dating
I'm just waiting
'Cause God is writing my love story

Boys are bad; that's certainly not true
'Cause God's preparing one for you
If you get tired waiting till he comes
God's arms are the perfect place to run

Chorus

Bridge
Sleep - that's the only thing for me
'Cause when I sleep
God's preparing one for me

Mirror

by Barlow Girl

Mirror, Mirror on the wall; Have I got it?
'Cause Mirror you've always told me who I am
I'm finding It's not easy to be perfect
So sorry, you won't define me
Sorry, you don't own me

Chorus
Who are you to tell me
that I'm less than what I should be?
Who are you? Who are you?
I don't need to listen
to the list of things I should do
I won't try; I won't try
You don't define me; You don't define me

Mirror I am seeing a new reflection
I'm looking into the eyes of He who made me
To Him I have beauty beyond compare

One Nation, "Under God."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

One Nation, "Under God."

One day a 6 year old girl was sitting in a classroom. The teacher was going to explain evolution to the children.

The teacher asked a little boy: Tommy do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Tommy, do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
TEACHER: Go outside and look up and see if you can see the sky.
TOMMY: Okay. (He returned a few minutes later) Yes, I saw the
sky.
TEACHER: Did you see God up there?
TOMMY: (!) No.
TEACHER: That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. Possibly he just doesn't exist.

A little girl spoke up and wanted to ask the boy some questions.
The teacher agreed and the little girl asked the boy:
Tommy, do you see the tree outside?
TOMMY: Yes.
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy do you see the grass outside?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Did you see the sky?
TOMMY: Yessssss!
LITTLE GIRL: Tommy, do you see the teacher?
TOMMY: Yes
LITTLE GIRL: Do you see her brain?
TOMMY: No
LITTLE GIRL: Then according to what we were taught today in school, she possibly may not even have one!
(You Go Girl!)

"FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT."
II CORINTHIANS 5:7

Don't forget to pass this on! I love this one. Everyone should send this to everyone they know, especially today with prayer restricted in schools. Please comment if you believe that there is a God who loves everyone very much! Sincerely, Ally Alyssa

Summer Camp 2006!!!

Thanks to Karen and Paul, I will be going to summer camp from the 18th to the 25th. I'm going with my friend Korah, age 16; and my sister Maranda, age 12. I'm 14 so I have three more years until I'm kicked out of the kids range and into the counsolers!! lol... but there are some 15 yr. old counsolers, no kidding! I'm going to have a blast, just please keep me in your prayers. I don't want Satan ruining it all for me... He's done it before... This time I just want to get away and be alone with God at PVBYC! Piedmont Vally Bible Youth Camp!! yeah!! I just hope I'm ready... I don't want bad thoughts clouding my mind and making life hard for me to think straight...

God Bless you!
Love, Alyssa Beth

Something's Fishy~but what?

I was being selfish.
I now understand.
I was like a fish,
Flopping around on dry land.

book review by me

Love Story
by Judy Savory

If you are striving for a close walk with Christ.
If you are struggling to keep above the storms of life.
If you batter with depression.
If you deal with any issues.
Then this book is for you!

It tells of a young dancer called Rhonda, who was searching for something even more in life but not finding it. After all, she had everything this world has to offer, didn't she? MONEY, a mom pushing her forward into her ballet career, glamor and prestige. And dreams of a beautiful wedding to Carlton, her fiance~.

But God has other plans for her life. He gave her anew career, anew "mother" and anew fiance~. She surrendered all to Jesus, she laid it all on the alter, and found what she had been seeing he whole time.

When Rhonda met Jesus,
she started life anew.
That is what I want for myself,
and it's what I want for you,too.

Blessings, Alyssa Beth Powell

My weekend and June 4th

Dear Friends,
I want to tell you all about my weekend.

On Friday I did chores, talked on the phone and made plans for the weekend.
(fun fun fun!)

On Sabbath, went to Sabbath School. Then a suprise for me was that Brittani... a girl from my sister Maranda's junior class was baptized... by the new pastor, Mr. Dekle. The baptism was really heart touching. Sermon was by the new pastor. He has seven children: four older boys and three younger girls. After the service was potluck, there were many guests.

After church the Youth Group went on a L-O-N-G hike in this L-O-N-G loop walking trail. I bet we went 3/4ths the way then turned back round! LOL After the hike we had a campfire in the Lepage's backyard... with baked potatoes (I brought the potatoes, clean and washed and rapped in foil), big franks (vegetarian hotdogs...), and lots of potatoe chips, and candy bars! I had a giant tootsie roll... I shared half of it though to avoid geting too sick... Ice Cream too... After all it was a suprise birthday party in descuise! lol

There wasn't a birthday CAKE persay... that would be a tad too messy...but there were birthday cupcakes!!! I'll have to post some pictures...

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Ruth!
Happy Birthday to you!

How old are you now?
How old are you now?
How old are you now?
How old are you now?

I'm 19 now, it's true.
I was 18 last year...
but I could hardly believe...
that you had that up your sleeve!

?!Frogs!?

?!Frogs!?
Hope you like this; a piece of wisdom for our year ahead..............
FROGS?
Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs....
who arranged a running competition.
The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.
A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants....
The race began....
Honestly,no one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. You heard statements such as: "Oh, WAY too difficult!!"
"They will NEVER make it to the top." or:
"Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!"
The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one....
Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher....
The crowd continued to yell,? "It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!"
More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....
But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....
This one wouldn't give up!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower.
Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top!
THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?
A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal? It turned out.... That the winner was DEAF!!!!
The wisdom of this story is: Never listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic....? because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you -- the ones you have in your heart! Always think of the power words have. Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore: ALWAYS be....POSITIVE! And above all: Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Always think: God and I can do this!

Most people walk in and out of your life....but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart.

In two days tomorrow will be yesterday.
?
?

If you fall down 10 times,
Stand up 11!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
My mom typed up that saying and put it on our bathroom wall.
After a while it go wet and had to be taken down, but even when the ink was blurred and smudged, I can still remember sitting there staring at it.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
What will you use your time for?
