MY plans for this week

I'm leaving on Weds. this week. We'll be staying at my Grandma's house in Erie on Weds. night and leaving early next morning. I'm going to my friend Jezika's house in OHio. I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!! We haven't seen each other for years and we're going to have a wonderful time!!!

Report on my eye exam from Monday

Well, first things first. You probably want to know if my eyes got better or worse since my first eye exam 2 years ago. Well, my prescription doubled. But the doctor said it's perfectly normal for kids, you know, they grow a lot. My sister's doubled too, and she wears her glasses all day when I hardly ever wear them and half the time I don't even know where they are.
I really hate wearing glasses. They break easily, they're uncomfortable, they make me look so-- differant then my normal self. And I hardly ever wear them-- why? oh, all those reasons!! So I asked my mom if I could get contacts. She said, "We'll see what the doctor says."
The doctor was a really nice elderly man. When I asked if he thought contacts would be good for me, he turned to my mom and he said, "If she were my granddaughter I'd get her contacts if she wanted them, but only if she was responsible and would take care of them." So I of course agreed would.
I'm going for a check-up tomorrow, the eye doctor wants to see how I'm doing with them. I think they're just awesome for me! If you hate wearing glasses, and if you would be reponsible, you should definatley try contacts.

Hi I'm here

Hi Guys, I know I haven't posted for awhile. Well I've been really busy lately. There's so much going on in my life. For this upcoming school year I'll be doing PA Cyber School. I'll get my own laptop computer and printer. It will be so cool to have internet access at any time without having to wait for my family. lol. Tomorrow I have an eye exam and I hope I can get contacts! But if I don't get contacts I'll definatley get new glasses! I'm really looking forward to that because my old ones I've had for two whole years and sometimes the lenses pops out and its so annoying. And during the school year PA cyber will pay for a membership to the YMCA or Curves. I'm not sure which I'd rather have. And on Frieday I have a physical for school. I'm not really looking forward to that. Doctors appointments are never fun for me even if they are just checkups. Well I have to go now.. it's time for lunch... past time for lunch. I love you all! Prayer Request

I'm putting this on my blog because Stephen needs our prayers. Stephen is my friend Kirsten's cousin. Some of you may pray for him once and then forget. Please continually pray for Stephen! I have never met him before either, but I think all of us should pray for a miracle! I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear from Kirsten!

Dear Friends,
As many of you know, my cousin Stephen (13) was diagnosed in December with a aggressive cancer no one has lived from. He has done remarkably well, and the doctors have been very pleased. This last weekend Stephen and his mom went up to Main for camp-meeting. He has attend this camp meeting since he was very small, and when they moved from New Hampshire to CA. They continued to go there, so it was very special for him to be ale to go and see his many friends. Stephen had a wonderful weekend, but on July third he went into a coma, and has been in that state since. At first they thought he had some kind of virus infection, but this morning they determined that it is the cancer, and it has spread through his spinal cord into the linings of his brain. They feel it will be only a matter of hours or at the most a couple days. Today (5th) Stephen is being medivaced back home to CA. It has been especially hard for my Uncle since he was not with Stephen in Main or when he went into a coma. So we are asking special prayer that he might recognize and respond to his parents and brother one last time.

"In the darkest days, when appearances seem most forbidding, have faith in God. He is working out His will, doing all things well in the behalf of His people. The strength of those who love and serve Him will be renewed day by day." Ministry of health and healing p.282

We are clamming this promise today, and trusting His will to be done.

Right now we are making hasty preparations to leave for CA. Depending on how he holds out, we may be leaving as soon as tomorrow. So please pray also for us as we prepare to leave.

I found out what Prali means!

In Val Germanasca lies Prali, a town abounding in charm and history, that in 2006 will host the training of the Olympic athletes. The works planned for the Torino Games will start soon and will include the rebuilding of the 13 Laghi chair lifts and the expansion of hotel facilities and restaurant services (new locales that will make the town more amenable to tourists). The allocation of the funds still has to be officially authorized to start the works. The purpose of the works is to allow ski enthusiasts to use the chair lift facilities and have a pleasant stay in the mountains of Prali. The cross-country system has already been expanded and each route has a different level of difficulty.

…Speaking of 2006
The population reacted well to the assignment of the Olympic Winter Games to their town, considering this an excellent opportunity to make known the splendid panoramas of Prali. We hope that we will finally be able to rebuild the chair lift, which has been out of service for about a year now. Riding up you can see the charming 13 lakes.

In september, the Museo Valdese of Prali and Val Germanasca is open.
Scopriminiera, is a fascinating expedition into the talc mines, and be operative during the summer (Reservations recommended, Tuesday closed).
Of all the initiatives, we would like to recommend the most fascinating: discovering Prali’s scenery; the best way to become familiar with and appreciate this little town is to explore its lovely scenery.

History.

This village was called Praly until 1937, from the dialect word "pral" (meadows), because of its green fields. Its history is strictly related to the Waldese people that lived around this aerea and that left many traces of their culture. This area was also very important for talc mines of Sapatlé, Envie, Malzas, some of which are presently open to visitors.

PVBYC 2006

This is my report for my week of June 18-25:
Summer Camp at Piedmont Valley Bible Youth Camp 2006 was a blast!
My counsolers were Anca and Christine. My unit name was Prali Pilgrims. I'm interested in knowing what Prali means. If anyone knows please tell me!
I met many great people and made new friends. The classes I took were: Camp Chior, Musical Mysteries, and Literature Evangelism. I liked my canvass in Literature Evangelism alot. Sarah Lake and I went out in the community together and had a good time canvassing. The next day Tana an I went out together. On Sabbath I went with the camp chior to a nursing home to sing for the residents. I liked my Musical Mysteries class because my friend Korah was also in that class. And because it was pretty fun! The food was great too. The weather was hot hot hot (in the high 90s+++) and I wished I would have taken Canoeing class! (I want to next year). My friend Jasmine was in canoeing and she told me that they got to tip the canoe and swim! It sounded like lots of fun for a hot day! Well I look forward to getting to know all of you better! And I'm looking forward to next summer!! Have a great year everybody!
