~

If someone is acting strange, maybe keeping to themselves alot and stuff, don't assume that they're trying to ignore you. Maybe you think they think they're better then eveyone else. But it could be the opposite. Maybe they think they're not good enough. Make a difference. Show someone you care.

First day of Work

Well we brought the wrong poles to set up the girls tent. So korah's dad brought over her tent and us 3 girls camped together last night. It was pretty nice. I slept well. Today is my first day of work at dorney park. I'm very excited. I won't be online at all this week, but camp meeting is ending in like 6 days so I'll be back before too long. I really need to get a cell phone! :) Last night we went to the Micheal Card concert, it was awesome. I've never seen Micheal Card in concert before. He even played 2 new songs. Well I hope to get some ice cream (soy) again tonight, it's so tasty!!! yummy!
Well as you can tell this is like the busiest week of my summer! lol. So ttyl

camp time!

Well today is the first day of PA camp-meeting. We'll be staying in a cabin. I will still be working next week and dad will drive mandy and I to our jobs. (She's earned like over $200 picking strawberries already). I'm so excited about life-guarding! It's like a dream come true! God is so good!
Well I won't have time to post for awhile. But I will be back! l8r

Did you know there's a law against being overweight in Japan!!?? They measure your waist and if you're over the limit they make you lose weight!

I'm a lifeguard!

Today I took the final test in the water and the written test. I did well in the water and got 98% on my written test. Tomorrow I go in at 4pm to get my life-guarding licence and for orientation (learning about the rides and how they operate). I also have to get a locker key. I hope the locker fits all my stuff! lol. Well here are some goofy pictures mandy took. Hopefully I'll have some better ones soon.

!Go Green!

I bought a bunch of green shirts, and a green bag, and cooler for my lunch. As you can tell, green is my favorite color! My eyes are blue, but they go good with green.

still here!

Yes, I am still blogging. Yes, I have been busy. Yes, I have started working at dorney park. I'm still in training, today and tomorrow will be the last 2 days of training. Then Sunday will be my first day of work. I made a friend on Monday. She's going to be a shallow lifeguard too. She's 16 too and really nice. I hope we can work in the same zone. Yesterday I wanted to get my ID card and uniform but the computer was down so they said I'd have to come back tomorrow. I'm going to get there and hour before training to get that all done. I have to go up a steep hill and walk through the amusement rides part of dorney to get to the wild water kingdom, which take 5 minutes. If you're just one minute late, you're fired! lol. So...
Anyways... I'll keep you updated.

10th grade here I come!

See this picture of textbooks? These are the books I have studied these past 9 months. Earth Science, English 9, Pennsylvania History, American Civics, Art History, and Algebra 1. They are listed in the order of favoritism! I like Science, then English, then History. Art History and Algebra weren't too fun! :) I enjoyed all the classes except Algebra. To be honest I have always disliked math very much. Oh well, at least I passed and today I start at dorney. I passed the online lifeguard training course and am ready to begin my summer!
Next year for 10th grade I've already picked my classes. Geometry, Biology, 1st semester Western Heritage, 2nd semeter World religons, 1st semeter drawing, 2nd semester graphic design.
I'm really excited about everything!
Oh yeah and this summer I'm doing drivers ED!!! YAY! {it will probably be my favorite class of all!}

The Elf man of my soul

This poem was written by my great-grandma Anna Johnson. I have never met her (I wasn't alive when she was) But I have some old pictures (well not the originals, just copies). She wrote quite a few poems. Here is one called...

The Elf man of my soul
There is a tricky little fellow
That lives within myself
However hard I wish or try
To keep him on his shelf
He always finds it pleasant fun
To come a-peeping forth
To dance and slide and frolic
On the strings around my heart.
He's the tricky little rascal
That can make me feel so blue
And whip the billows of my soul
To angry foaming too.
He laughs when I'm unhappy.
And cries when I am glad.
He's a tricky little fellow
Who likes to see me sad.

summer is here... and so are the ticks!

Dont tell me you've never seen a tick! If you live anywhere where it gets warm enough for bugs, they're there. They get on you, and your pets!

A School Nurse has written the info below -- good enough to share -- Andit really works!! I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great, because it works in those places where it's sometimes difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc. Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20), the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you liftit away. This technique has worked every time I've used it (and that was frequently), and it's much less traumatic for the patient and easier for me. Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can't see that this would be damaging in any way. I even had my doctor's wife call me for advice because she had one stuck to her back and she couldn't reach it with tweezers. She used this method and immediately called me back to say,'It worked!' Please pass on. Everyone needs this helpful hint.

Am I just another pretty face to you?
What do I mean to you?
Why do you spend time with me?
Looking into my eyes
