Hopscotch & Tiddlywinks

The baby bunnies eyes are open now! They are all fuzzy, and starting to eat solid foods like hay and pellets. They are very curious and like to groom themselves and each other. It is so cute how they scratch with their back feet. We named Tiddlywinks because at first only one eye opened like winking. Hopscotch was my little sister's idea, and we all liked it! Missy tolerates them, but she doesn't like to be with them too much, she tends to check on them then hop away. They are lucky to still be alive. It is hard work but we still hold Missy down while they nurse every single morning and evening. Soon though they won't need our help. We weighed them and Hopscotch was 8 oz. and Tiddlywinks was approx. 7 oz.
Keep checking back for more updates!

bunny update

Well we are still helping the kits out by putting Missy on her back and helping them nurse. We do this twice a day, in the morning and at night. You can literally see them fill up like a balloon! :) They are all round in these pictures because they're just finishing up their bedtime meal. They grow up so fast, soon after Christmas their eyes will open! Hope you enjoy the pics and come back soon for more updates!

Wildlife in the backyard

These shots are taken from a window, it's by the stairs so whenever we walk up and down the stairs, we get to look out at all the birds, and possibly a squirrel or two. I finally got a couple squirrel shots, I run and get the camera and usually he/she is gone by the time I come back, but I got them in the end. :) We also have a couple woodpeckers and I saw a chickadee today.

Bunny Boys

I took this picture yesterday. We are pretty sure they are both boys, but the smaller one could be a girl, we won't find out for sure until they get older. They are getting bigger every day!

Missy Update

Well, I guess it is time to give an update on Missy and her babies. There are just two left and they are now 5 days old. The solid colored one died, it was the smallest and died in the night. It got cold from wandering from it's siblings. The kits need each other to keep warm. Just five more days and their eyes will open. Please pray that they make it. We have to grab Missy by force and put the kits on her to nurse. There are pictures on this website showing how to do it Welsh Rabbitry. It is known as the second best fostering method. They are both growing, it's amazing how fast they grow! I might get more pictures, but probably not too soon. Nursing this way is stressful enough without adding flash cameras! I will probably wait until they get older before I take more pictures. Once again, please pray for them! Thanks!

Snowman

Today it snowed about 3 inches. So I decided to go outside and make a snowman with Lanaya. I made it so big I could barely lift the second snowball, it was even heavier than my brother! haha. It turned out even taller than my little sister. Here are some pictures. I had to use an umbrella so I wouldn't get my camera wet.

Gingerbread House

My family and friends Korah and Summer decorated this gingerbread house at our church Christmas social. We won 2nd place (I made the pine trees). You can see on the one side there is a smiley face and on the other it says Merry Xmas.

Newborn Lop-eared rabbits

Sneak, the father.

Picture from: **click**Rita's Bunnies**click**
Missy had her babies yesterday morning! There were 4 broken colored and 2 solid colored. Three of them died at birth because they were bigger than the others and harder to birth so Missy tried pulling them with her teeth to get them out. It's a good thing the whole litter, or Missy herself didn't die due to these giant babies (about 4 inches long). It is kind of ironic because usually the runts don't survive but in this case the oppostie is true. Anyway, now we have 2 broken and 1 solid and they're all so cute! Here are some pictures I just took this morning...

The proud mother

The excited uncle
The nest

solid kit

broken kit

other broken baby (my favorite, and she is a tad larger then the others)

Hey this is a gerbil, not a baby bunny!

Horsies

Spring
Dom
Black Jack
We can ride Black Jack and Dom but Spring is lame. :( They are thinking about putting her down. They have had them all for a long time and it would be a very hard decision.

Today is the day!

Missy has pulled out her fur to make a soft nest. So that means her babies should be born today!!!! Yeah!!!
